To start classes Bow Valley College in May 2023, international students must have approval for
their study permit application by the Study Permit Deadline April 7,
and are required
to access the VAS portal to confirm their attendance and upload proof of approval
by this date. This will all be done via the VAS portal only.
Students that received a refusal or are still waiting for a response by the Study Permit
The deadline must also access the VAS portal to provide updates and upload any supporting
documents.
How to complete attendance status:
Step 1: Review the Study Permit Guide
- The Spring 23 Study Permit Guide is attached
Step 2: Upload your document
- Upload the student’s immigration document to your VAS portal. Please do not email , as it will not be reviewed.
Step 3: Confirm your attendance
- Using VAS messaging, confirm your attendance for May 2023.
- The deadline to confirm your attendance is April 7, 2023.
Step 4: For questions
- Please send a message via your VAS portal at https://bvc.vasuniverse.com/
Please note the following:
- Deferral request approvals are not guaranteed, and you cannot request a deferral if your application has been deferred before.
- Study permit refusals must be received before April 7, 2023, to receive full refund, including your confirmation deposit (Your confirmation deposit is only refundable if Canadian immigration has denied you a study permit).
- Students who receive a study permit refusal will not be able to defer their application. Students who receive a refusal and want to request a refund MUST drop all registered courses in their MyBVC student portal before Add/drop deadline, or they will lose the tuition fees paid.
Please note that responses received via email will not be processed. You will be redirected to the VAS portal for these processes, which include confirming attendance, uploading immigration documents, and messaging us to provide updates or ask any questions.
