Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
The first PNP in Canada was the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In 1998, it was turned into a permanent immigration scheme.
Manitoba, one of Canada’s western Prairie provinces, is a province built on years of strong agricultural productivity. Manitoba is home to the city of Winnipeg and is bounded on the east by the province of Ontario and on the west by the province of Saskatchewan.
In 1998, Manitoba became the first province to establish a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). As a small province with few newcomers, it relied on the PNP to promote itself as a preferred location for talented immigrants. Manitoba has been a huge immigration success story since then. Immigration has played a significant part in Manitoba’s population, labor force, and economic growth, according to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
Immigrants consider Manitoba to be one of the most welcoming provinces in Canada. It is primarily due to the great quality of life while remaining reasonably priced. According to data, approximately 4547 immigrants have arrived in Manitoba since 2022
