Express Entry (EE)

A detailed guide on Canada Express Entry (EE)

The Canada Express Entry (EE) Program is an electronic immigration program developed by the Government of Canada. This allows people around the world to apply for immigration to Canada based on specific skills.

Recognizing the need for skilled workers in a variety of professions, Canada has developed an express entry program to attract as many skilled workers as possible.

Due to the different levels of skilled workers, the Government of Canada has developed four different programs within Express Entry (EE). These programs are also known as economic migrant programs because they attract skilled workers to improve and develop Canada’s economy. These programs are:

Types of Express Entry Programs

The program depends on your admission requirements. The main differences between them are language skills, skilled work, and work experience.

Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP)

Although this program was established in 1967, individuals are now asked to apply using the Express Entry System, which was launched in 2015. This is a five-year multiple-entry visa that allows foreign skilled professionals to work and live in Canada.

The Canadian visa system offers a variety of programmes tailored to specific groups of people. The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is one such programme designed specifically for foreign professionals in healthcare, engineering, technical careers, and other fields. The FSWP employs a point system to determine whether a foreign worker qualifies.

Professionals who apply must be skilled and have work experience in the qualifying occupation.

Federal Skills Trade Program (FSTP)

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) launched the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) in 2013 to offer a dedicated immigration pathway to skilled trades workers.

One of three federal economic initiatives run by the Express Entry system of the Government of Canada is the FSTP. Express Entry is the primary channel through which Canada accepts talented immigrants from all socioeconomic backgrounds. With an average of 110,000 yearly immigration spaces designated to Express Entry, Canada plans to accept over 400,000 new immigrants per year under its Immigration Levels Plan

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Since 2008, the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) has provided a significant pathway for candidates who have worked in Canada and want to move to Canada permanently.

The CEC is a popular choice for temporary foreign workers and international graduates seeking Canadian work experience. The CEC is one of three programs overseen by Canada’s Express Entry system.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP Canada) is an immigration scheme designed to meet Canada’s urgent demand for new immigrants. PNP Canada, as the name implies, is intended to offer provincial/territorial governments the authority to admit immigrants based on labor needs through local discretionary nominations. Applicants to Canada’s PNP programs are granted permanent residency.
